For many years now in the UK, our new housing has been delivered almost exclusively by the larger, national and local house-builders. However, this has one major drawback – a very limited choice of design and plot size and virtually no input from you, the house buyer, into your finished home.
Now, there’s a new form of housing emerging called custom build which gives you, the self-builder, the opportunity to have a real say in the creation of your new home.
Building a custom-build home is a process where you select a plot and then work with an architect and wider team to design and deliver the home that suits your needs and budget, often using Modern Methods of Construction for faster build, higher quality and lower energy houses.

What Cherish Homes offers is self-build made easy which is why we work closely with Dan-Wood as they are the market leading fixed price supplier of thousands of new homes every year.
The five steps to help you achieve your dream self-build home:
Step 1 - Choose a Plot
Pick a site and decide upon the ideal size, location, outlook, outdoor space etc. that suits your individual requirements.
Step 2 - Choose Your House Design
Peruse from over 200 designs “off the shelf”, or work with our in-house architects to create your own unique house design from scratch - the choice is yours (although be mindful that, as with all sites, designs are subject to approval by the Local Planning Authority).
Step 3 - Place Your Order
Cherish Homes will finalise your design, submit the same for planning and then, once the design is finalised and approved, we will provide you with a fixed price to fully deliver your new eco-friendly home.
Step 4 - Start On Site
Once you have placed your order, Cherish Homes will prepare your site and undertake your ground-works and slab preparation in readiness for your house being delivered and constructed on site.
Typically, our houses are built in under 12 weeks from starting on site.
Step 5 - Move In
Collect your keys and move in. Your home will be finished exactly in accordance to your order/ specification. You will receive a 20-year warranty on the construction and very low running costs due to the thermal efficiency and green credentials of your new home.
